Semiprivate Lessons (for Playa Vista 90094 residents only with security card access to pool).
Our semiprivate lessons are for water-safe swimmers who can independently float or swim at least 15 yards. To maximize learning, it's best if both participants have similar skill levels. Otherwise, one swimmer may experience waiting time. For younger children who are still developing water safety skills, private lessons are generally more beneficial initially. They can move to semiprivate lessons as they mature and gain more experience. If both children in a semiprivate lesson are not yet water-safe, the limited individual attention (approximately 15 minutes each) may hinder their progress. If the children cannot swim or follow instructions together, private lessons are the recommended alternative.
Location: Center Pointe Club in Playa Vista (swimmer must be a resident of 90094 with security card). Monday through Friday, and Saturday mornings. Playa Vista outdoor small pool temperature is 88°F and big pool temperature is 84°F.
Price: $45.00 per 30-minute class for each swimmer (Billed Monthly). Lessons are a recurring monthly membership and are billed at the beginning of each month (first month prorated). Price calculated and billed for number of classes that month (e.g. 5 classes if 5 Mondays in that month).
Annual Registration Fee: There is a $35 annual registration fee per student collected at initial registration and annually on the anniversary month.
Each swimmer is billed the monthly fee. Both swimmers must attend each class. If one swimmer cannot attend, both swimmers need to register an absence to receive a make-up token. Please note, if one swimmer attends and the second swimmer misses, both parents will still be charged for the lesson. There are no individual make-up tokens given.
When both swimmers register an absence, both swimmers will receive a make-up token. You will not receive one unless both parties register an absence. Your makeup token will be generated after the date of the reported absence. A makeup token will only be generated if your absence was reported more than 24 hours before the start of the lesson. To schedule a make-up, both swimmers will sign up for the same timeslot with the same instructor. We will merge the two swimmers as a semiprivate make-up lesson.
Semiprivate Lesson Enrollment Instructions
You must already have your partner before signing up as we do not set up pairing. To enroll, SWIMMER 1 must register for a private lesson, so the time slot is reserved. In the comments tell us it will be a semiprivate lesson and add the name and email address of the other swimmer. SWIMMER 2 will also need to create an account and simply wait, we will merge the two student profiles on our end to create the semiprivate lesson. If the two swimmers are part of the same family, make sure to create your two student profiles under your family account and follow the same directions.
